In 1957, he entered the agronomy faculty of the Azerbaijan Agricultural Institute and graduated in 1962 with the specialty of agronomist. In 1962-1964, he actively participated in the study of the soil cover of the Kur-Araz lowland, especially Sabirabad, Salyan, Neftchala, as well as Siyazan, Devachi regions, in the Baku Soil Expedition of the Ministry of Agriculture, first as a soil engineer, and then as a team leader. Starting from 1964, A. Musayev, who began to deal with the problems of the development of grain growing in the republic, conducted extensive research at the RICH in the direction of creating more productive, high grain quality, non-dormant, disease-resistant grain varieties and seed breeding. In 1969, he was awarded the title of Candidate of Agricultural Sciences by defending his thesis on "Formation of varietal mixtures in seed crops and ways to prevent it". In 1967, A.
