The brown marmorated stink bug and measures to combat it

The pest, which causes serious crop loss in farms, has the following morpho-biological signs and characteristics.
Morphology:

The brown marmorated stink bug is brown in color. The alternation of light and dark spots on Front scapula, shield and head parts creates a visual marble pattern, which gave rise to its name.

Adult individuals of the brown marmorated stink bug prefer to spend the winter in inhabited buildings and other built shelters. Thus, several thousand nurseries can be collected in one house. In the spring, after the larvae leave their wintering grounds around the end of April and feed for 1–2 weeks, the females lay eggs. The eggs are 1.3-1.6 mm in size. After 2 weeks, the larvae hatch from the eggs and pass the 5-year stage. The size of the larvae is 2.4 mm in the first year, 3.7 mm in the second year, 5.5 mm in the third year, 8.5 mm in the fourth year, and 12 mm in the fifth year.

An adult:

The length of the body is 12-17 mm. Its body is slightly convex and resembles an oval-shaped shield. The upper part of the body is brownish, and the lower part is whitish or pale brown with occasional gray or black spots. The brown marmorated stink bug is distinguished by the presence of whitish rings, which are not found in other similar types of woodpecker (Brochymena, Euschistus). The legs are light-colored, bordered with striped rings, as are the whiskers. Whiskers are 5-jointed.

Ways of spread:

It is mainly spread by planting materials, fruits and other plant products, and by means of transport during long-distance cargo transportation.

Damaged plants:

It can damage fruit, berries, melons and vegetable plants, grapes, decorative plants, beans, soybeans, corn, cereals, technical and vegetable plants, generally more than 100 types of plants.

The chemical method is mainly used in the fight against the fungus. Spraying of fruit plants should be carried out in early spring when pests have weak immunity. In the chemical control against the marble gardenia, insecticides containing lambda-ziclothrin, bifenthrin, imidocloprid and thiacloprid are used.
