"The end result of all scientific research is aimed at farmers"

Every time I step into this science center, which is a symbol of blessing, I feel strange. The Institute for Agricultural Research, which will celebrate its 70th anniversary next year, is a carrier of rich scientific heritage in its field. The Institute, which plays an important role in the development of academician Jalal Aliyev, today operates in eight major scientific areas such as body and seed quality analysis, plant protection, soil and plant analysis, plant selection, and seed production. The department has 8 departments, 5 laboratories, 11 experimental bases, 331 employees. Of these, 121 are researchers, including 43 are in philosophy and 6 are doctors of sciences. Their efforts produce 1300 tons of cereal, leguminous, elite and elite seeds of regional varieties of cereals and fodder on 2565 hectares. These seeds provide planting material to 120 seed farms throughout the country.

The Research Institute of Crop Husbandry is an international breeding center in Simimet and Icard, Russia. Krasnodar ET Agricultural Institute named after Lukyanenko, All-Russian Institute of Genetic Resources of NVavilov, Don State Agrarian University, Kharkov National Agrarian University named after VVDokuchayev, Turkey Institute for Transdisciplinary Research, Institute of Corn Research, Socar Institute established relationships.

Director of the Institute Javanshir Talai speaks about the goals ahead: “Today, the Institute has new high yields of cereals (wheat, barley, maize) and food (bean peas, lentils, soybeans), fodder (clover, hay) and tobacco for various agroecological regions of the country. wide and comprehensive goals in the field of creation of high-quality, biotic and abiotic varieties and hybrids, development of scientific-practical bases of complex cultivation technologies, providing high yield from them, application, distribution, productivity of pasture and hay, feed preparation and zootechnical evaluation. stands.

Our mandate includes soft and hard wheat, barley, paddy, corn, peas, lentils, soybeans, clover, hay, tobacco. The Institute is engaged in selection, seeding, phytopathology, entomology, genetics, physiology, biochemistry and biotechnology, including wheat, barley, corn, food legumes, feed crops, sustainable agriculture and plant diversification programs. research is underway. ”

The scientific enterprise has created 147 varieties of different agricultural plants, and over the years, 101 varieties have been zoned and included in the State Register of Selection Achievements. Of the 173 cereals, cereals and fodder varieties included in the State Register of Selection Achievements, the patent is owned by 50%. 75-80% of wheat sowings in the country, 90% of barley, 75% of corn, 75% of pea and lentil crops, 65% of alfalfa and poppy are created at the Institute.

To date, the Institute has trained more than 400 highly qualified scientific personnel. 255 of them successfully defended their dissertation and were awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and Sciences. The results of these scholars' research have been published in more than 60 books and monographs, 219 brochures, 3,500 articles, 38 posters, 50 booklets, a catalog of 6 varieties of cereals and a collection of XXIX volumes.

Javanshir Talai says that the quality of the body is being investigated for the creation of durable varieties against abiotic factors - unfavorable climatic factors. Increasing productivity is a key issue. We have varieties that can produce up to 70-80 centners per hour in intensive technology. Our goal is to increase existing productivity by at least 50 centners. In this direction we cooperate with agroparks established in our country in recent years. For example, all varieties planted in the agricultural park in the Goranboy region are varieties of our institute. With these steps, we seek to connect with the business world of science. In parallel, steps are being taken to organize the scientific work of hunting. Preparation of fodder, zootechnical evaluation, and efficient use of natural resources have also become subjects of our research.
