Scientific seminar on "Application of microbiological technology in agriculture" was held at the Research Institute of Crop Husbandry

On 29.04.2019, scientific seminar on "Application of microbiological technology in agriculture" was held at the Research Institute of Crop Husbandry. A young researcher, scientist Nuri Humaya, a junior scientific worker at the Plant Selection Department. In general, they play a positive role in biodiversity, but in certain situations, they act as human beings and organisms.

She pointed out that microorganisms in agriculture have a role as phytostimulation, biocontrol agents, biological regeneration, bio-fertilizer, and microbiological mutually beneficial effects.

She then spoke about the development in the world and stated that microbiological products constitute about two-thirds of the agricultural industry. Agricultural biological products have demonstrated double sales growth over the past few years, generating about $ 2.3 billion in annual sales (Schäfer and Adams, 2015).

Experts in this field are increasingly involved in microbiological technology and microbiological products are being introduced in Azerbaijan. For example, a new pesticide production plant opened at Sumgait Chemical and Industrial Park on December 15, 2017, is the largest enterprise in the region both in terms of scope and production volume. Upon reaching full production capacity, Agrochemic Azerbaijan plant is expected to produce a variety for plant protection products with over 9,000 tons of production per year. The company will present 158 new products.

The scientific seminar was welcomed with interest, questions were answered, and scientific discussions were held.
