Republican conference on "Demonstration of new varieties of grains, technologies and exemplary seedlings in irrigation conditions" was held at the Tartar Regional Practice Station of the Research Institute of Crop Husbandry and Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan
On the 27th March 2019, the republican consultation on the theme "New types of crops, technologies and demonstration of exemplory crops under irrigation conditions" was held in Tartar region jointly organized by the Research Institute of Crop Husbandry and Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Tartar Regional Practice Station included in its structure. The conference was attended by scientists and specialists of the relevant scientific-research institutes, the National Aviation Academy, as well as farmers, producers of agricultural products at the Ministry of Agriculture and the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (ANAS). The head of the Tartar District Executive Authority, Mustakim Mammadov, spoke about the successes in the agrarian sphere and praised the importance of the consultation, noting that grain is one of the strategic areas in the country's economy in terms of food security. Director of the Research Institute of Crop Husbandry Javanshir Talai delivered a speech on the topic of "Research priorities of the Research Institute on Grain Growing and Challenges to Complete Grain Gathering in Timekeeping". In his speech, he talked about the course of grain harvesting in the republic, the practical measures undertaken by the Ministry to complete the harvesting, the main strategic directions of scientific research in the grain industry and research priorities. It was noted at the meeting that for the first time in the country the technology of ozonation was developed under the direction of the rector of the National Aviation Academy, academician Arif Pashayev. At the initiative of the National Aviation Academy scientists and specialists of the Institute of Genetic Resources of ANAS carried out scientific research and experiments on increasing the production of grain by low cost and environmentally friendly methods of ecologically clean and non-destructive production on the basis of application of ozonation in agriculture, and significant results have been achieved. Cooperation agreement was signed between the National Aviation Academy and the Research Institute of Crop Husbandry. It has been noted that the sowing of seeds with scrubbing ozonation technology is more effective compared to alternative technologies due to its compliance with ecological requirements, the quality of seed slaughtering and economical efficiency. Director of the Tartar Regional Experiment Station Hagigat Hashimova informed the participants about the new regionalized and prospective wheat and barley varieties created for irrigation, the advantages of new resource-saving innovative technologies and exemplary seedlings. It was noted that at the Tartar Regional Practice Station, established in 1933, a total of 6,000 local and oversea wheat and barley varieties are being studied every year and 450-500 tons of high-yielded reproductions produced by the Ministry of Agriculture private seed farms. During the consultation, wide discussions were held on the subject and farmers' questions were answered. Then the participants got acquainted with the new grain varieties, technologies and exemplary seedlings in the territory of the Regional Experimental Station.
